Lost and Found – Earlham Street Gallery, London 2008
This work is about the rediscovery of a friend’s relationship with their partner.
‘Lost’ initially explores the gradual breakdown of their relationship, through personal distractions, a growing family and ultimately the loss of everyday communication.
‘Found’ celebrates the re-birth of this relationship. It uses the Noah and the ark narrative to represent the initial survival. It rejoices in the individual’s needs, demonstrates a growing togetherness, strong love and an awareness of the preciousness of their union.
The titles are extracts from hymns and reflect my Christian upbringing.
